Vasai – On Saturday morning, the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) organized a massive beach cleanup drive in honor of World Coastal Cleanup Day. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 13,000 individuals, including students, social organizations, and local citizens. A total of 51 tons of waste was collected from the shores, with 650 kilograms of plastic being recycled through advanced machinery.
World Coastal Cleanup Day, celebrated annually on September 21, is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of keeping our coastlines clean and protecting marine ecosystems. This year, the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation took a step further by launching an extensive beach cleanup initiative at two popular locations: Rajodi Beach and Kalamb Beach.
