Former municipal councilor Shyam Pendhari met with a tragic accident on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway, resulting in his untimely demise. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning around 4:30 am when Shyam Pendhari was traveling from Mumbai towards Nalasopara in his car (MH 02 GB 935). As he was approaching Nalasopara, this unfortunate accident took place. Shyam Pendhari, along with other individuals in the car, was rushed to the Bhakti Vedanta Hospital on Mira Road for medical treatment. However, doctors declared Shyam Pendhari deceased upon arrival. The Naigaon police have taken cognizance of the accident and are investigating further.

According to information provided by the police, ongoing concrete work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway has led to slippery road conditions. Consequently, Pendhari had difficulty controlling his vehicle, resulting in him veering off course. Meanwhile, near Maljipada on the highway, a speeding truck (registration number DD 03 R 9093) was heading towards Mumbai. The truck collided head-on with Pendhari’s car, leading to this devastating accident. Shyam Pendhari sustained serious injuries in the collision and was immediately taken to the hospital. However, medical professionals pronounced him dead upon examination.

Shyam Pendhari was 58 years old. He was an active worker for Bahujan Vikas Aghadi, and his wife, Jaya Pendhari, is also a former municipal councilor in the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation. The police have detained the truck driver for questioning and have initiated further investigations into the incident.
