Guess what? Nakshatra Bagwe, who is a famous activist and organizer for LGBTQ+ people, has been chosen to lead the very first Vasai Virar Pride Festival 2023. This festival is going to be a big deal for the LGBTQ+ community in Vasai-Virar and even beyond. It will happen on May 27, 2023, and it’s all about bringing positivity to our community and making sure that everyone accepts and understands LGBTQ+ individuals.
Nakshatra Bagwe is well-known and has done a lot for LGBTQ+ rights. They have worked really hard to fight for the rights and acceptance of queer people in Maharashtra and all over India. Bagwe has been a strong supporter of LGBTQ+ rights for many years and has played a big part in organizing different events and projects for our community.
The Vasai-Virar Pride Festival 2023 will take place for one day and it aims to celebrate how diverse and strong the LGBTQ+ community is. We are expecting a big turnout of LGBTQ+ individuals and people who support them from all over Maharashtra. This festival is going to be a big moment for LGBTQ+ people in Maharashtra and it’s an important step towards making our society more accepting and inclusive. We have planned a special route for the Pride March that will go through different neighborhoods, including temples, churches, and Vasai Road, so that more people can see and support us.
When Nakshatra Bagwe talked about the festival, they said, “I understand the importance of being the leader of the first pride festival, and it means a lot to me. We are really happy that the authorities and police officers have given us permission without any trouble. This festival is a big step towards creating a society that accepts and includes LGBTQ+ people. I’m excited to work with the organizers and the community to make this festival a huge success.”
